Celebrate the rich diversity of African rhythms at this outdoor dance and drum performance for all ages.
Head to the Urbana Free Library for a performance of dancing and drumming in Congolese style! This outdoor performance is part of the day-long Ngoma African Music and Culture Festival celebrating African music, culture, and cuisine. You will also be able to see a photo display focusing on the local history of the Congolese community.
Festival events will be taking place throughout the day in several venues in Urbana, including the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, the Community Center for the Arts, and Lincoln Square Mall.
In the case of bad weather, the Library’s performance will move inside to the auditorium.
