Community Coffee in the Wandering Woods
MONTICELLO — Celebrate the opening of Allerton’s first accessible woodland trail at a Community Coffee in the Wandering Woods on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 8 to 11 a.m. Park in the Main Parking Lot. The event is free and no registration is required.
The public is invited to this open-house style event to enjoy a drink on Allerton from Moon Bean Coffee and explore the approximately quarter-mile path, while connecting with fellow community members and Allerton staff. The park’s new power chairs will be available for those with limited accessibility (first come, first serve).
Attenders can also make a morning of it by taking part in Fall Yoga (9 a.m.) or stopping by the Greenhouse Cafè for brunch (opens at 10 a.m.).
Those who contributed as Friends of Allerton helped make the accessible Wandering Woods path possible. Additional phases of the Wandering Woods will include immersive elements of a natural play area, completing a multi-generational, accessible feature to Allerton’s existing upland oak-history forest.
