The Champaign-Urbana Astronomical Society (CUAS) is pleased to announce that four club members will provide short talks on astronomy-related topics at its meeting on Thursday evening, November 14, 2024, at 7:00 PM. Here’s a list of the talks
Dave Leake will share an interactive presentation on “what telescopes really do.”
Erik Johnson will reminence about his first astronomy book and its impact on him.
Jim Wehmer will talk about the long history behind the constellation Orion and the Seven Sisters (also known as the Pleiades).
Duane Stafford will discuss things he has learned about astronomy this year.
The Champaign-Urbana Astronomical Society holds its monthly meetings on the second Thursday evening of each month. The event is open to the public at no charge and no tickets needed. All are welcome, but the scientific content of the meetings is unlikely to be of interest to those under high school age.
