As we close out spring break, it has left us anticipating all things SPRING even more than we already were
Families can choose from many events and activities happening this weekend in Champaign-Urbana
We know we are in the midst of spring break and all, but there is something about the impending shift in the weather that makes spring TRULY feel right around the corner. (Well, mostly. We are in Champaign-Urbana, after all.) It is light out later, Illini baseball and softball games are happening (well, when weather cooperates) and oh my, the events in town! We have been busy at work loading up our event calendar so that you have the schedule for everything heading through spring into summer. Check back often, as events are being added daily to help you plan.
We are also aware that many Easter events are going to start happening in the coming weeks; check out the growing list of egg hunts and more now.

Icko Iben Jr. Distinguished Lecture Series in Astronomy
Wednesday, March 26, 7 p.m.
Where did the building blocks of life come from? The answer lies in the hearts of distant stars and incredibly powerful explosions such as supernovae, which help spread fundamental elements to galaxies far and wide where they can spark new life. The talk explores how hundreds of millions of celestial events have forged the elements that make up the Solar System, Earth, and us. Travel deep inside a giant star nearing the end of its life and witness the collision of stellar corpses. From the oxygen we breathe to the iron in our blood, the silicon in Earth’s mantle to the uranium that warms our planet’s core and helps give our planet its protective magnetic field, we owe it all to the stars!
