After a couple great days of weather, the promise of spring is surely right around the corner. And first on the list of “spring things” to get ready for is spring break, happening right around the corner. If you’re looking for spring break camps, there are a few of those open for registration now.

As for this weekend, enjoy your choice of a number of things to do. Our libraries, performing arts centers and sporting venues are all hopping this weekend!

Monarch & Pollinator Fair

Saturday, March 1, 1 – 4 p.m.

Calling all butterfly enthusiasts! Learn about the preservation of Monarch butterflies and other pollinators at this family-friendly, interactive event. So many activities planned, you’ll need the entire afternoon to see and do everything!

Activities include: face painting, story circles, service projects, science & anatomy, crafts, games, temporary tattoos, seed bombs and more.

Appropriate for ages 3 to 12. No registration required.

Ready, Set, Connect! Free Developmental Screenings

United Way of Champaign County, Birth-5 Illinois, and the Champaign County Home Visiting Consortium are offering free developmental screenings for children from birth to five years old. These screenings assess communication, social, and motor skills to help families track their child’s development.

Screenings will be available at multiple locations across Champaign County on the following dates:

• Urbana – Every Tuesday & Friday
• Rantoul – March 5 & April 9
• Mahomet – March 12 & April 9
