Crisis Nursery is dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect as the only 24-hour emergency-based childcare facility of it’s kind in Champaign County. This “Island of Safety” provides critical support and resources to strengthen families facing crisis.

Every day, families experiencing overwhelming challenges such as financial stress, illness, or domestic violence turn to the Nursery for respite care and essential support—all free of charge and without income eligibility restrictions. They believe that, “Asking for Help is a Sign of Strength,” and are committed to walking alongside families in their most vulnerable moments.

Their approach not only keeps children safe but also works to empower and stabilize families. On December 5-7 at Orpheum Champaign, you are invited to support the mission of the Crisis Nursery through the annual Holiday Shop. This special event allows children to shop for their loved ones with a volunteer so that any gifts they pick out for their friends or family get to remain a fun surprise! Plus, they learn a little bit about budgeting and about giving back to their community. Come out and make a difference!
