Here’s what you need to know about Juneteenth in C-U:
Government offices: Federal, state, county and city administrative offices closed.
Post offices: All post offices will be closed. No mail will be delivered.
Courts: Federal, state and county closed.
Banks: Closed.
University of Illinois: Closed.
Libraries: Champaign Public Library is open. Urbana Free Library is CLOSED. Mahomet Public Library is open. St. Joseph Library is open. Tuscola Public Library is open.
Transit: CUMTD service operates as usual.
Parking: As a city holiday, metered parking in Champaign and Urbana is free on Juneteenth.
Museums: All are closed with one exception: the Museum of the Grand Prairie in Mahomet.
WHAT’S OPEN: Most retail stores, grocery stores, restaurants, etc., are open and operate under normal Wednesday hours.
