Friday, April 5, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, April 6, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Shrink to beetle-size and brave the microscopic world of bugs. Traverse a blocky Minecraft landscape to interact with digital DNA. Try on a pair of goggles or headphones to see and hear like someone else. Sound interesting?
Guests of all ages are invited to see, hear, and experience science from perspectives like these at the Beckman Institute Open House, scheduled for Friday, April 5, and Saturday, April 6. The event is free and open to the public. The Beckman Institute is located at 405 N. Mathews Ave., Urbana.

Prairie Gardens Spring Open House
Introduce the wondrous world of gardening to kids with FREE Garden Activity tables at the Prairie Gardens Spring Open House.
Kids are invited to paint their own Terra Cotta Pot and plant a live Pansy inside to take home.
Paint-A-Pot and Plant-A-Pansy Tables will be set up near the Prairie Gardens Toys Department during the PG Spring Open House event from 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
Kids of all ages are welcome.
Other Spring Open House activities include exclusive specials, big garden giveaways, FREE garden seminars AND MORE.
Locally-owned since 1964, Prairie Gardens is a local Garden, Home and Retail store located in Champaign, IL on the corner of Springfield & Duncan.

Champaign Public Library – Eclipse Celebration
Eclipse Celebration on April 8 – all ages, rain or shine, with music by DJ Silkee, eclipse-themed crafts for kids, free safety glasses, roving entertainment, and face painting. NASA livestream on view inside.
Parking will be limited, so it’s a great day to take the bus—during National Library Week (April 7–13), you can ride MTD free with your Champaign or Urbana library card.
