And with spring open houses, the opening of the drive-in, and more spring-themed events than we could ever ask for, Champaign-Urbana is clearly ready for spring, too. We can’t wait to journey through this spring and summer with you – some great plans are in the works!

Soccer Planet Play Group & Free Developmental Screenings
Tuesday, March 26, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This playgroup is free and open to children ages 0-5 and their caregivers who live in Champaign County. Join other families and have fun participating in open, indoor soccer play with your child.

Camp Countryside is open to ANY student from ANY school. Choose from enrichment camps in coding, fantasy, performance, fitness, crafting, and much more – including HTML: Web Development, Swiftie Pop Star Camp, Japan Week, Mythical Creatures, Archery, and the exceptionally popular Footprints (local exploration/field trips).

Illinois Terminal Division – Lincoln Square Train Show
Lincoln Square Train Show is back in downtown Urbana, Saturday, March 23 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free and there will be lots of display layouts, model train vendors and other family-friendly fun.

C.A.R.E. Talks

The University of Illinois and the Champaign Park District have announced a joint “TED Talk-styled” event to foster connections between the university and the community, share innovative ideas, and celebrate the achievements of the area’s academics, students, and community organizations.An inspiring series of short talks, performances, and presentations, C.A.R.E. TALKS will be offered live on the Virginia stage and are dedicated to bringing together campus and community through engagement with and in support of students in east-central Illinois. Prior to the talk, there will be a lunch with a Nobel Laureate, Richard Roberts, and we would love to have you! Nobel Laureate Richard Roberts won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1993 for his part in the discovery of gene splitting. Come learn about him and his experiences, and get the chance to ask him your own questions!
This is a free event, and lunch will be provided, however space is limited so you must sign up!
