Here’s what you need to know about Presidents Day 2024 in Champaign-Urbana:
Schools: We don’t know of a public school district that is in session; possibly private schools might be.
Government offices: Federal, state, and county administrative offices closed. City offices are open.
University of Illinois: In session.
Postal service: All post offices will be closed.
Courts: Federal, state and county closed.
City Government: City of Champaign and City of Urbana are OPEN.
Banks: Most closed.
U.S. Stock Exchange: Closed.
Libraries: Mixed. Urbana is closed. Libraries that are open: Champaign, Mahomet, Tolono, Tuscola, St. Joseph, Allerton (Monticello) and Rantoul.
Transit: CUMTD will operate on regular weekday schedules.
Parking: Presidents Day is NOT a city holiday in Champaign or Urbana. Parking meters should be paid as usual.
Museums: Spurlock Museum and Krannert Art Museum are always closed on Mondays. Museum of the Grand Prairie is temporarily closed (slated to reopen March 1).
Retail, grocery: Business as usual! (And quite a few sales.)
