Valentine’s Day is on a Wednesday this year, so it might not be as busy as if it fell on a weekend. However, it will be a busy night for area restaurants so call ahead and make reservations ASAP. You can always pick another, less crowded night to go out.

Argenta Ice Fest: It’s the return of this unique event set for Saturday, Feb. 10, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. See world-class ice sculptures, live carving demonstrations and much more.

Do Yoga Together: Amara Yoga and Arts is offering Partner Yoga for Friends and Lovers, led by Jason Schroeder, on Feb. 14 (7-8:30 p.m.), aimed at yogis of all levels. Develop trust and support through a series of poses for a pair. Cost is $40 for two participants; space is limited. More info here.
Krannert Center Uncorked: On Feb. 15, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts will host Bloomington-based Soft Spoken, featuring jazz, funk, R&B, soul and blues, with the smooth jazz filter set on high. Best news: It’s FREE!. Starts at 5 p.m.
Gospel Documentary at The Virginia Theatre: The Arthouse Experience Film Series presents Gospel: Where Song and Sermon Meet. The Feb. 16 film digs deep into the origin story of Black spirituality through sermon and song. General admission is $7.

Tired of the same old Valentine’s Day routine? Have a sitter for the entire (or even part) of the weekend? Valentine’s Night In at Allerton Park in Monticello may just be the thing you’re looking for.
