East Central Illinois schools announce changes because of winter weather
Many Champaign-Urbana area residents have been following along with the announcement of an incoming winter storm. Follow along with Chambana Weather here.
In response to the weather forecast, some school districts have already announced closures or e-learning days, and other area institutions have begun to announce closings as well. Several districts have indicated they plan to wait until early morning on January 25 to make any closing announcement.

School closures or remote learning days for Jan. 25, 2023
- Heritage CUSD #8: closed

Paxton Buckley Loda CUSD 10: “All practices, meetings, and activities for tomorrow morning (Wednesday, January 25) are cancelled.”
- University Laboratory High School, Urbana: remote learning day
More closures
- The Village of Savoy will close all facilities on Wednesday, Jan. 25 (including the Savoy Rec Center)
- Parkland College, Champaign: “All classes, programs and services have been cancelled at Parkland College for Jan. 25. Includes classes at area learning centers and the CDC. Access roads to campus will be closed. No service to campus by Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District.”
