The Champaign-bound Raising Cane’s location will be hosting a hiring event for a restaurant manager on Wednesday in Champaign.
The Louisiana-based chain, which specializes in chicken fingers and is a staple in many southern cities in the U.S., will open a restaurant at 411 E. Green St., in Champaign, formerly the site of a Pizza Hut.
From 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Raising Cane’s will host the hiring event at Home2 Suites on South Neil Street in Champaign.
More information regarding the position can be found here.
Raising Cane’s will join what has become a crowded market in fast-food chicken in C-U. It will compete with Chick-fil-A, Popeye’s, Slim Chickens and many others who offer a similar product as part of its menu.
Raising Cane’s, however, is known for — and, basically, only sells — chicken fingers. The entirety of the menu is this: chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, Texas toast and drinks. That’s it. Its dipping sauce is also considered a favorite by many of its fans.
Raising Cane’s has several locations in Chicagoland, plus one in Joliet and another in DeKalb. Its only downstate Illinois location is in Fairview Heights, near St. Louis.
