If there’s a holiday in America that doesn’t receive the fanfare it deserves, it is Veterans Day. Honoring those who serve our country and are willing to pay the highest price is always a worthwhile endeavor. In that vein, we offer an article that outlines places to honor our veterans on Nov. 11. Below is a look at how Veterans Day might affect the operations of offices, businesses and organizations.

Schools: OPEN — This year that includes Champaign Unit 4.
Government offices: Federal, state, and county administrative offices are closed. City of Urbana as well as City of Champaign offices are closed.
University of Illinois: In session.
Postal service: All post offices will be closed.
Courts: Federal, state and county closed.
Banks: Some are open; be sure to call ahead.
U.S. Stock Exchange: Open.
Libraries: Open.
Museums: Open. (Krannert Art Museum and Spurlock Museum are always closed on Monday.)
Transit: CUMTD will operate on regular weekday schedules.
Parking: Champaign, Urbana and University of Illinois parking meters should still be paid.
