Fans of the University of Illinois Ice Arena may get to glide across the rink soon, as staff are working towards reopening on August 23 for the Fall 2021 semester.
Alex Williamson, assistant director of marketing for Campus Recreation, said details of the projected fall opening are still being finalized so it’s uncertain what visitors can expect at this time.
“It’s difficult to say what the Ice Arena will look like upon reopening,” Williamson said.
She added, “We are hopeful to offer as many of our usual programs and services as we did before the pandemic, but it is largely dependent on our ability to hire the appropriate number of staff.”
Williamson said about 80-100 employees will be needed to hire and train. Click here to apply.
