Staples Nationwide will Laminate CDC Covid-19 Vaccine Record Cards for Free, including the Champaign Location
Through May 1, Staples in Champaign is laminating your proof-of-vaccination card for free.
The service figures to come in handy in the future, when citizens might need a COVID-19 proof-of-vaccination for various forms of travel, work or entertainment where crowds gather, some experts suggest.
Signage at the Champaign Staples store on North Prospect Avenue says the offer is good in-store only and requires coupon code 81450.
According to one customer, the information stickers on vaccination cards provided by Carle do not laminate, so Staples will make color copies and then laminate those.
No purchase is necessary.
While the sign displayed at the Champaign location says the offer is good through April 3, this story from Business Insider says the offer has been extended through May 1.
Local Staples management confirmed the May 1 date on the chambanamoms Facebook page.
The cards, made of a stiff paper stock, originate from the Centers for Disease Control and are the only acceptable proof of vaccination. The CDC suggests taking a picture of your card in case it is lost or damaged.
According to Business Insider, Americans who receive the vaccine at Walmart and Sam’s Club will eventually be able to access a digital proof-of-vaccination called CommonPass.
