Crowley Pumpkin Glow returning for 2020 – October 29, 30 & 31
Celebrate Halloween this year by driving past glowing pumpkins after dark in rural Mahomet
An annual tradition, the Crowley Pumpkin Glow is all kinds of fun. Visitors drive by the lighted pumpkin display, which will include many jack-o-lanterns lining the road. In years past, they have had more than 300 pumpkins carved for the event.
This year, we are even more excited and grateful to the Crowley family for the opportunity to cruise past the glowing lights in our own vehicles, enjoying this socially-distanced and family-friendly festive experience for Halloween.
Since yields vary from year to year, there have even been years the Crowley family has purchased some pumpkins rather than abandon the 15-year family tradition.
Despite the cost, Julie Crowley said in 2015 her family’s love of Halloween is what motivates them to keep doing it.
“It’s our favorite holiday. I feel like we get the whole family together. People we don’t see every day, they come to help carve pumpkins, they come to look at the pumpkins,” she said.
Julie said she and her family also really enjoy the positive reaction they get from the community year after year.
“It makes everybody happy,” she said. “It’s just pretty amazing … it’s a whole lot of fun.”
