Fitness Premier will change the fitness landscape in Mahomet; more Mahomet business news updates below
A new option for keeping fit will be coming to Mahomet before the end of the year.
With the mindset that focusing on health and wellness is “critical, now more than ever,” Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs will be opening a new location in Mahomet in late fall.
Fitness Premier will open at the Churchill Crossing development, located on Mahomet’s east side. The club, which will total 6,400 square feet, will be housed in its own building that is yet to be constructed. It offers 24/7 access, group fitness classes, virtual training, and HydroMassage recovery.
“We are extremely happy to be moving into Mahomet and feel like Fitness Premier is a great fit for this community,” Kathy Mecklenburg, who owns the center along with Emily Schunke, said in a news release.
Churchill Crossing is located across the street from the Mahomet Public Library, and not far from the Prairieview and Interstate 74 interchange.
Fitness Premier Mahomet will be the brand’s second location in the Champaign-Urbana area. Fitness Premier currently operates its Champaign club at 2414 Galen Drive. Get updates about the new Fitness Premier Mahomet location from its Facebook page.
Fitness Premier isn’t the only Mahomet business making news of late:
– YoYo’s owner Alice Pommier announced that the self-serve frozen yogurt shop will be pivoting to focus on offering “quality coffee and tea” in Mahomet. Yoyo’s will continue to have yogurt, but not self-serve, and will incorporate healthy smoothies into its menu. YoYo’s plans to have a “full-service” drive-thru, and hopes to reopen later this summer, Pommier said in a video on the Visit Mahomet Facebook page.
– Ice Daddy’s, a food truck that sells shaved ice and other treats, announced via Facebook that starting June 11, it will be located east of Schnuck’s behind Mahomet Dentistry.
– A new pool hall is being developed on Lincoln Street in downtown Mahomet.
– The new poke counter Poke Shack opened in late April.
