We all know that this summer is likely to look very different from years past. In an effort to curb boredom and create new and unique memories, many Champaign-Urbana businesses are offering activity kits, virtual directions or instruction and much more in order to engage children and families. Art Coop Shop, Lincoln Square Mall, Urbana: Choose a dollar amount between $10-$200, pick an age group, tell them your interests and staff will personally assemble your art kit. Also featured are gift kits and mask-making kits.
CU Adventures In Time and Space, 302 N. Broadway Ave., Urbana: Have you ever wanted to try an escape room? CU Adventures is offering a play-at-home escape room where competitors can “save the world from home.” Prices start at $10 for unlimited players and include multiple versions which can be played over video chat with friends.
Downtown Design Studio, 107 W. Sale St., Tuscola: Offering take-and-make activity kits once or twice a month. Be on the lookout for a virtual crafty club for this summer starting in June.
Pretties by Paris, 2004 S. Neil St., Champaign: Featuring DIY kits for you to paint your own door hangers and more. Paint and ribbons are not included with door hangers. Delivery or pick up at the studio are available.

Each kit includes two 6-inch pottery pieces, your choice of five colors and two brushes. A direction sheet is included to help make your experience relaxing and fun. Bring the pieces back to the store to get fired in the kiln.

Gain access to online videos (in Facebook groups) to watch; continue one step at a time to paint along at your own pace. Kits include canvas, palette knife, brushes, and paints needed to complete the activity.
