Head out “into the unknown” this weekend and over to a Frozen 2 singalong, coming to Champaign and Savoy screens starting on Jan. 17, just in time for the long holiday weekend.
Both the AMC 13 Champaign and GQT Savoy 16 IMAX will host showings of the special release, with limited options available. The timing is good; the Idina Menzel & Aurora version of “Into The Unknown” from Frozen II received an Oscar nomination on Monday.
According to its website, the Savoy theater will screen the singalong with one showing, at 11:05 a.m. daily, at least through Wednesday, Jan. 22 (Times are subject to change without notice.)
According to its website, the Champaign AMC theater will screen the singalong with one showing, at 4:30 pm daily, at least through Wednesday, Jan. 22 (Times are subject to change without notice.) The Champaign theater is also still showing Frozen 2 without the singalong feature, if your family so desires.
Ticket prices are the same as any other matinee showings.
Not familiar with a movie singalong? This is the version of Frozen 2 where everyone in the theater is encouraged — dare I say required? to sing along to your favorite songs. The lyrics even appear on the screen with a dancing snowflake (for those who can read, a plus).
Here’s a preview of what you can expect during the singalong, complete with the treatment of lyrics on the screen, with the hit song “Some Things Never Change.”
The original Frozen movie also released a singalong version, which you can even buy.
Happy singing, everyone.
