A new Mexican restaurant will debut in Savoy on Wednesday when El Rancho Grande opens its doors for business.
This is the second El Rancho Grande restaurant in East Central Illinois; its owners have operated El Rancho Grande in downtown Villa Grove, a community about 25 minutes south of Urbana, since 2017.
El Rancho Grande is the newest addition to the Savoy development known as Savoy Square. It is in the same building as Industrial Donut, which opened in April; the building is just south of the Savoy Aldi Food Market. It sits at the corner of Calvin Street and a new road called Commerce Drive.
The Villa Grove location offers a kids eat free deal on Mondays, but it remains to be seen if the Savoy location will offer the same. (The deal is one free kids meal per family).
The restaurant’s opening adds to the village’s growing food scene. It is home to chains such as Applebee’s and Buffalo Wild Wings, but also to more locally owned fare including Smoky’s BBQ, iWok Chinese carryout, and Star BBQ, a Korean BBQ joint.
Industrial Donut is celebrating the opening with a churros-themed special donut creation.
The new El Rancho Grande will be open seven days per week, from 11 am to 9:30 pm weekdays and 11 am to 10:30 pm on Friday and Saturday nights. It will have a outdoor patio facility.
