With temperatures in central Illinois expected to reach the mid-90s this weekend, it’s important to remember there are ways to stay cool — well, OK, cooler — in these conditions.
Some tips:

- Champaign County fairgoers will be permitted to bring in one sealed bottle of water per person.

- Unfortunately, the timing of this heat wave isn’t ideal for patrons of Sholem Pool in Champaign. The pool will not be available on Saturday, July 20, because it is hosting the Central Illinois Swim Conference meet.
