The Urbana Police Department will be offering bicycles free of charge to citizens of Champaign-Urbana and surrounding areas. This event will take place on Thursday, Feb. 14, from 10 a.m.-noon at 202 S Vine Street, Urbana (former Goodyear building).
The Urbana Police asks that each citizen be limited to one bicycle. The bicycles will be offered in as-is condition to interested parties. There are a few smaller kids bikes, some BMX style bikes, and a lot of adult hybrid/mountain/road bikes. The earlier you get there, the more bikes you’ll have to choose from. The department also asks that you have your ID or drivers license with you. One bike per person.
