The Champaign Unit 4 registration process is evolving — in a positive way for parents.
For the first time, Unit 4 this year will offer online registration for middle schools. It is the second time that Champaign high schools will have online registration. That program worked well last year, which allowed Unit 4 to expand it to the three middle schools.
Will Champaign elementary schools be next?
“That’s the hope,” said Emily Schmit, director of communications and community relations for Unit 4. “It is, as you can imagine, a little bit of a different animal. There’s a lot to work through. I don’t know if that will be the following year, or if that might take a little bit of time. But we’re definitely moving in that direction.”
To register online for the 2019-2020 school year, Unit 4 must have the correct email address for the person identified in the Home Access portion of the Unit 4 website as “Guardian One.” Only Guardian One will receive an email in July initiating the only registration process.
Parents should visit the website and follow the Home Access link to confirm the proper email address is on file. If the email needs to be changed, the deadline is March 1.
