It’s been on the radar of Champaign-Urbana families, students, and working professionals since it was announced to the community in July 2017.
Lodgic Everyday Community — which will feature a unique trio of dining, childcare and workplace amenities — is now just weeks away from launching in south Champaign. The area’s first flexible drop-in childcare and co-working space will open its doors at its South Neil location in September, but now’s the time to check out Workplace and Kids Camp packages and pricing at www.lodgic.org/
Lodgic Kids Camp
Lodgic Kids Camp provides licensed, flexible drop-in childcare for children ages 12 months to 12 years old. Hours for the Lodgic Kids Camp will be 6:30 a.m– 9 pm, Monday through Thursday, and until 10 pm on Fridays. Saturday hours are from 9 am – 10 pm. It has two types of memberships available:
1) Pay as You Go
Designed for those who want to access Kids Camp whenever they like and only pay for what is needed. Flat hourly, meal, sibling, and snack rates. $12/hour, per child; $5 per additional child, per hour + meal cost, when your child is at Lodgic during a scheduled snack or meal time.
2) Flextime
Members may purchase hours in bulk, which are valid for an entire year; the more hours purchased, the better the rate. Rates as low as $8/hour, per child, with the purchase of 100 hours; 25 hours can be purchased at $11/hour, with rates in between.
There is a $60 annual membership fee per family, and required membership enrollment paperwork for each child; there is ongoing, open registration throughout the year. Hours for the Lodgic Kids Camp are 6:30 am to 9 pm, Monday through Thursday, and until 10 pm on Fridays. Saturday hours are from 9 am to 10 pm.
Lodgic Kids Camp has been developed and created by director Cherie Mondrella, a highly-credentialed and seasoned early childhood education expert. Kids Camp is so integral to the operation, Cherie was the first employee hired by Lodgic. Interested in working at Lodgic Kids Camp? Lodgic Workplace
If you’re not familiar with coworking, it’s the idea that people work better when they’re surrounded by other creative minds. We know there’s lot of you “professional nomads” out there in Champaign-Urbana, people who work part-time or full-time from home or another quasi “office.” Maybe you’re a small business owner, or a freelancer, or working remotely for someone else; or none of the above. Regardless, all are welcome.
Lodgic coworking will offer nine unique work zones; fiber speed internet; direct-to-desk food and drink; bike storage, showers, and locker rooms; print center and services; access to member-only events; front desk service and Workplace hosts; professional technology and AV support; reservable gather rooms; quiet call booths and private drop-in offices. Full Workplace details are available at www.lodgic.org/coworking.
There are three ways to access Lodgic Workplace, each with distinct perks. Workplace memberships to choose from include a pay as you go rate ($20 for a full day), flextime rates (as low as $15 per day), and monthly all-access rates (starting at $220 per month for open access, with dedicated office space available for as many nine people). Depending on how much you buy, rates go down.
You don’t have to be a member to host meetings and events at Lodgic Workplace. Meeting spaces are available for up to 125 people.
Lodgic Food and Beverage
Open to the public, Lodgic’s two eateries Clever Moose Market Café and Everyday Kitchen do not require memberships. Just show up and be hungry.
Lodgic Everyday Community is now offering tours. For more information on tours, and to see insider photos, visit its Facebook page. And be sure to watch out for the announcement of opening day.
