If you have a young Illini fan in your household who is looking for a unique experience, the University of Illinois has two situations that would fit that description.
The Illini soccer and volleyball teams are looking for ball kids for their upcoming season. In each case, ball kids must be in fourth through eighth grade and show up at least 45 minutes before the start of the event and stay until the end. They will sweep on court during stoppages.
For volleyball, it is highly recommended that all children who are interested and/or selected to become ball kids attend the Orange & Blue Scrimmage on Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. at Huff Hall for training. Ball Kids and one parent/guardian will receive FREE admission to any volleyball match that the child is scheduled to work. All other family and friends will need to purchase tickets through the Illinois Ticket Office (1-866-ILLINI-1). To sign up to become a Fighting Illini Ball Kid for volleyball, click here.
For soccer, admission to soccer games is free. The first game of the season will be Aug. 10 at 6 p.m. To sign up to become a Fighting Illini Ball Kid for volleyball, click here.
