Has your child racked up nearly $21 in library fines for overdue books? (Asking for a friend.)
Then you’re in luck (whew!). Starting Aug. 1, the Champaign Public Library will offer automatic renewals on eligible items. Items will renew up to 10 times.
Here’s how it works:
All items except the following will be eligible for auto renewal: those reserved for another customer using the hold service; already overdue items; rental items; interlibrary loan items; e-content; and any hourly loans.
Auto renews do not apply to Urbana Free Library items. They will need to be renewed manually.
There is no way to “turn off” auto renewals. They will apply to all accounts.
Customers will still receive a notice three days before items are due, letting you know which items were automatically renewed and which couldn’t be renewed.
For more information visit the library’s borrow page or call (217) 403-2000.
