The former Za’s location on West Springfield Avenue in Champaign — at least a portion of it — will become a Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant.
Jill Guth of Guth & Associates said Monday that Dunkin’ Donuts will utilize half of the existing building. The use for the other half has not been determined. There is no timetable for Dunkin’ Donuts’ opening.
Dunkin’ Donuts has multiple Champaign-Urbana locations, including a combined store with Baskin Robbins in Champaign (Neil Street) and Urbana (University Avenue).
Za’s closed both of its Champaign locations in January.
Dunkin’ Donuts’ arrival at 2006 W. Springfield Avenue will compete with nearby Carmella’s Creme at 1611 W. Springfield.
