The famous holiday lights display set to music will illuminate Paxton for the first time since 2019
Big news, Central Illinois: The Johnson Family in Paxton announced that “Lighting Up Paxton” will illuminate for the first night on Sunday, November 27 at 5 p.m. Having missed these lights since 2019, this announcement will be met with great excitement by people of all ages.
The Nov. 1 statement on the Lighting Up Paxton website that announced the lights were returning stated, “We are excited to share that Lighting Up Paxton is returning for the 2022 Christmas season! When compete, the lights will be on nightly from 5-10 p.m. Sun-Thurs and 5-11 p.m. Fri-Sat. All of the favorite songs from previous years will be included in this year’s show along with a surprise addition to be released later.”
A SURPRISE!? We love surprises! Especially ones related to holiday lights.
Lighting Up Paxton is located at 332 W. Patton in Paxton; get directions here.
The Johnson family last displayed its lights in 2019. The Johnsons took a break in 2020, and then announced on Nov. 1, 2021, that they would be taking one more break with an expected return in 2022. That return is now confirmed.
In 2019, the light show was up and running in all its glory. The light show had over 140,000 lights that year and was completely synchronized to music.
