Tis’ the Season for holiday trolleys, fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la!
If you missed the Champaign Center City holiday trolley rides last year, don’t worry. There are still seats available this Christmas season on Dec. 3 and 17. You may want to book your reservations soon though- they are filling up fast.
Like previous years, riders will enjoy hot chocolate, carolers and cookies while taking in the holiday sights and sounds of Champaign-Urbana in an open-air trolley. (The trolley is provided by the Champaign Park District.)
The cost is $3 per rider- children three and under ride for free. The ride lasts about 20 minutes and takes passengers through Center City, which includes Downtown, Midtown and Campustown Districts.
Registration and payments must be done online by going to champaigncenter.com.
Riders must register and pay prior to showing up to the rides; no payments will be accepted at the event. Riders must also bring their confirmation of registration with them to the event.
The pick up and drop off location for the trolley is at Emmanuel Memorial Episcopal Church at 208 W. University Ave. Riders are asked to arrive 10 minutes prior to boarding time. The rides will be held between 4 and 6 p.m.
