The Babyland store in Savoy announced in an email to customers Wednesday that it will close permanently at 6 p.m. on Jan. 16.
Locally owned Babyland opened in Savoy Plaza around 2002 and became popular among families with newborns and babies. It expanded a few years later into its current location, a 5,800 square-foot footprint that sold juvenile furniture, strollers, pack and plays, swings, carriers, cloth diapers, and much more.
Wednesday’s email did not cite a reason for its closing.
From the email: “Starting December 26th EVERYTHING in the store will be 30-70% OFF including all furniture displays.
We will also be selling all fixtures at 50-70% OFF.
Hurry in to get the best deals in town on baby products!
Show this email to get an EXTRA 5% off a single item in appreciation of your patronage.
PLEASE forward this email to all of your friends and relatives to let them know about the wonderful sale!”
Thank you Babyland for your years of service to the parents in our community. The store will be missed.
