Both of our Chambana Moms to Know have been integral to opening Breathe, a new day spa and event space at The Pines in Urbana. Juggling home and work has taken on a whole new meaning as they both carved out extra time in their schedules to help owner Carmen Davis Kirby start up Breathe in just a few months time.
In addition to Sara’s and Lacey’s roles as Beauty Boss/Cosmetologist and Spa Concierge/Esthetician, respectively, each is a busy mom to toddlers (and more).
Lacey Berlatsky, originally from Homer, has lived in St. Joseph with her husband, Ross, and son Ryder, 15 months, for the last four years.
Q: What would you like to see in C-U that we don’t already have?
I would have said a spa, but we’re doing that already. Haha. I’d selfishly love to see a local wine shop open a location at The Pines.
Q: What do you do when you aren’t working?
Family is very important to me, so I try to spend my time off work with them. We love to camp, workout together, and just relax.
Sara Dalbey was born and raised in Champaign and lives here with her partner, DeMarco Burden; children, Peyton, 4 years, and Kyrie, 19 months; and nephew, Kendrell, 7 years.
Q: What’s your biggest parenting challenge right now?
Sassy attitudes and a son who wants to climb everything!
Q: Tell us something that most people don’t know about you.
I’m a big kid at heart. I recently sprained my foot doing a cannonball into the shallow end. Do not try this at home.
