This won’t be your father’s mayoral debate.
The four-way race for the city of Champaign’s highest political office will take center stage on Sunday, March 29 at Jupiter’s at the Crossing in southwest Champaign. The event will start at 4 p.m.
All four Champaign mayoral candidates — incumbent Don Gerard; city council members Karen Foster and Deb Feinen; and Champaign Park District president Joe Petry — have agreed to participate.
The event is free and open to the public, and all are welcome.
The debate will be co-hosted by Chambanamoms.com and our friends at Smile Politely, and will be moderated by Smile Politely publisher Seth Fein and Chambanamoms’ Mom-in-Chief Laura Bleill.
And there will be plenty to talk about, as the most hotly contested race on the April ballot. That’s where you come in: we want to know, what do you care about? What should we be asking the candidates?
We welcome your suggestions for debate questions; please send them to info@smilepolitely.com or editor@chambanamoms.com. Our goal is to come up with questions that reflect the unique nature and interests of our collective readers.
Mark your calendar, folks! We’ll see you there.
