For those allowed to make homemade treats – choose something easy that the kids can help with. Try rice krispie treats with a Valentine twist. Simply add red food coloring to the melted marshmallows and fold in Valentine candy corns for a festive vibe! Want to go a step further? Cut those treats into heart shapes… Easy peasy!
Perhaps one of my cutest valentine creations is a Valentine photo of my son using simple props! I simply cut a black paper mustache from construction paper & glued to a wooden stick. Then with the help of an amazing photographer I was able to capture a cute picture of my son, added the words & printed them for family & friends.
If you’re really into giving small trinkets/gifts for Valentine’s day, get creative & name those goods! Buying small containers of play-doh? How about attaching a note saying ‘DOH you want to be my valentine?’ Sending pencils with Valentines? ‘You’re just WRITE for me, Valentine!’ Send a pack of popcorn with ‘you make my heart POP!’ The possibilities are endless.
