Will it be wet, or will it be dry?
The Urbana Park District is working toward opening the brand‐new Crystal Lake Park Family Aquatic Center to the public for swimming on Saturday, June 29. The ability to swim on that day is still to be determined. All systems must be fully operational and permits must be in hand. It will be a day‐to‐day decision about whether swimming is possible on June 29.
Regardless of whether we can get in the water or not, an official grand celebration will take place on Saturday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m., where the Urbana Park District will have remarks to mark the beginning of a new era of outdoor recreational swimming. In the case there is not swimming that day, the staff will conduct and lead walk‐through tours of the facility between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for the public where visitors will be able to see and ask questions about the features that comprise three separate pools—a deep water pool, recreation pool and competition pool.
If there is swimming on June 29, following opening remarks, winners of the first ride down the slide raffle will be first on the various pieces of play equipment. Then the public may enter the water. Season passes and punch cards for the Crystal Lake Park Family Aquatic Center will be available at the pool gates on June 29.
If there is no swimming on June 29, the raffle winners will be first on the equipment on the first day Crystal Lake Park Family Aquatic Center is open to the public. (Information about the First Ride Down the Slide Raffle
The announcement as to whether the facility will be open for swimming or for tours will be available on the Urbana Park District website at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28.
