What parent hasn’t asked for an extra 24 hours? Well, today we’ve got them! Leap Day only comes around every four years, so let’s celebrate!
1. Leap Year Skate. Skateland in Savoy is holding a special skate from 6:30 t0 8:30 p.m. tonight. Admission is $5 per person or $15 for six!
2. Create a tradition. Kick off a new tradition, like burying a time capsule or having a special frog-themed scavenger hunt. We’ve even heard some folks say they might keep the kiddos home from school and go on a special field trip, instead. Think of it this way — you won’t have to do it every year, just every 1,460 days!
3. Take a flying leap. The weather is lovely today, so why not have a game of Leap Frog in the back yard? Or go to the park and round up all the kids you can find to make it an even more exciting competition.
4. Eat some frog legs. Well, not really. Make some cupcakes and decorate them in a frog theme for a special dessert or after-school snack.
5. Make an Leap Day obstacle course. Inside or out, set up a course that includes plenty of leaping, hopping and jumping, like this one from Let’s Explore.
