Editor’s Note: This post first appeared when we launched chambanamoms.com in November. Thanks to a wonderful article in today’s News-Gazette, we have many new visitors today, and we wanted to extend a warm welcome to all of you.

Amy insisted that I write this welcome note as we launch chambanamoms.com.
“You made this happen, you know,” she Skyped me the other day. “Without you, there would be no chambanamoms.com.”
That’s only partly true. Without all of YOU there would be no chambanamoms.com. How many moms have I met who told me they didn’t know where to take their kids on a rainy day? Or how to meet other moms like them? Or what to do with the grandparents when they visit from out of town?
We invite you to look around and take a tour. Some features we’d like to highlight are a list of where kids eat free in Chambana; our calendar featuring great events in town for children and their families; our list of local birthday party venues; our newbie guide to C-U, which will be expanding in the weeks and months ahead.
How can you get involved? Join the conversation! Comment on our posts. Become a fan on Facebook, or follow us on Twitter. In the months ahead, we will be partnering with local businesses to sponsor events and gatherings, so we can meet “in real life,” too.
We’d like to emphasize that this is just the beginning of a long journey. We have grand plans for chambanamoms.com. There are many more features on our drawing board. This will be a living, breathing resource that will be ever-evolving to meet the needs of our readers.
We want chambanamoms.com to be the top online resource and community for families in Champaign-Urbana, but we can’t do it alone. We welcome you to join the conversation, in whatever way you feel comfortable. And we value your feedback.
Thank you for taking the time to visit us today. We look forward to getting to know each and every one of you.
So sit back and enjoy the ride. We know we’re having the time of our lives.
Laura
